The next public meeting to weigh in on protecting Pacifica’s beaches as part of the Local Coastal Plan for the city of Pacifica is Saturday, September 15th at 12pm – Pacifica Community Center Auditorium (540 Crespi Dr, Pacifica, CA 94044). This plan will impact the health and possibly the future existence of Pacifica’s beaches.
The city needs to hear from our surfers, families with children, and all recreational beach lovers about how much you value it’s beaches. If you can’t attend the meeting, please send your comments to ask the Pacifica City Council and Mayor Keener to protect Pacifica’s beaches from erosion that results from overuse of coastal armouring. You can find the Final Draft Adaptation Plan here.
Please come to add your voice before it’s too late! Don’t let the city continue to kick the can down the road to avoid long-term planning to address beach erosion. The Bayside communities are looking to the future with innovative approaches like the Resilient By Design project. The local coastal plan and adaptation plan are great opportunities to re-design and plan for the future, to make Pacifica a more beautiful and healthy place to live including preserving our beautiful beaches.
