The Surfrider Foundation San Mateo County Chapter will be holding elections this July for seven positions. This is a great opportunity to get involved and have more influence on our chapter’s activities. Chapter officers and program leaders are members who have decided to take their participation to the next level and help direct and drive our local programs and campaigns. We’re a collaborative, thoughtful group of volunteers seeking to make a positive impact on our coast – and we have fun too!
The seven elected positions will make up the San Mateo County Chapter Executive Committee. A few of the key responsibilities of the Executive Committee include organizing and implementing our local campaigns and programs, organizing and staffing our outreach events, organizing and planning our fundraising and awareness events, and coordinating and developing volunteers, Each position requires a 2-year commitment and an expectation that chapter meetings are regularly attended.
The San Mateo County Chapter is in a rebuilding phase making this an exciting time to be part of the team. There are many local issues to address like clean water – particularly in the Pillar Point marina, beach access, especially to areas like Martins Beach, beach clean-ups throughout the County, and more.
